Resident Evil Wiki

Due to Popular Demand, Resident Evil Wiki is having another Community Event. For those curious about the community event prior to this, but only half of our maximum turnout showed up. While that does seem rather bad, I will say that those who did actually attend this event, have said they had alot of fun doing it and wanted another. I expect an even better turnout this time around. I'm gonna see if I can implement some failsafes to prevent all of the sudden dropouts and no shows.

For those who are new and unaware of what a community event is exactly, it can be loosely defined as an event hosted somewhere in or outside the wiki by members of the wiki. For this Community Event, we will be gathering players from all over the wiki to play Resident Evil 6 when it comes out.

We will be broken into groups of 2-4 led by a Team Leader. The Team Leader's responsibilities are listed below. The teams will be selected depending on choose will flow with other teammates.

Date[]

October 13th 2012 Exact time unknown ATM

Requirements[]

XBOX 360[]

An X-box Live Gold Account
A Headset*

PLAYSTATION 3[]

PSN ID
A Headset*
  • While communication is a big part of this event, headsets are more of a preference than a requirement. You can enter if you dont have a headset, just try to get one before the date we decide for the event. If not we wont penalize you for it, it will just be harder to communicate with you, and that's not a good thing for a squad based game in a community event. Consider it a 95% requirement, you really should have it, but if not, we wont penalize you.
    • Also If you don't have a mic on the day of the event, some other options of communications you could try are:
      • Sign in to the Wikis IRC Channel. Have another teammate or all of your teammates in it as well for communication.
      • Skype-ing another team member or your team is another plausible way to communicate. Voice chat would probably work best, as it serves as less of a distraction.

RULES[]

  1. Be fair to your teammates, no insulting or racist comments, thats not cool bro.
  2. Have Fun.

Preferences[]

  • Have some basic knowledge of Resident Evil's game canon.
  • Be at least over 15 years of age.
  • Add the members of your team to your friends list, and play RE5 or a different game you guys share with each other beforehand to get to know your teammates better. This will minimize the risk of teams not working out the day of the event.

How To Enter[]

Place your Wikia Username, Gamertag/PSN ID, and Time Zone below on the sign up chart. The reason I'm asking for time zones is to make it easier to match you up with people who are closer to you, and to simplify deciding the overall time for the event. It is completely optional but would make it easier for us. Teams will be formed on the 19th of September. After the teams are chosen, people can still join but they probably won't get on the already created teams, unless someone on the team drops out. Comment is where you put any special requests that you would appreciate, such as "everyone on my team be in my time zone", or statements pertaining to the event like "No Mic".

Team Leader[]

If you want to be a team leader, apply in the team leader application section of the list. We need team leaders to run the groups, so if you can apply, by all means do. If we have alot of team leaders on hand, you might be denied team leader status until more players are willing to participate(we only need 1 team leader for every four members.

Requirements[]

  • Be fairly active on the wiki
  • Have a Headset
  • Be willing to perform all of the responsibilities listed below
  • Have a Half-Decent Connections

Responsibilities[]

A team leader should be able to assemble their team when the time is right. A team leader should also create a name for said team (it's not completely nessesary, but it makes things more fun) A team leader should help decide what would be the best action for their team at what time, (whether that be Mercenaries or Campaign). You can also choose your teammates, but a personal suggestion, try to choose some people you tend to not play with often, to expand your friends circle. That random guy could become your best friend.

Playing Style[]

If you are questioning why it's in teams of four, but only two people can play at at time, it is because you and another person you've never met before playing is boring. All four of you will be in the party so you can all converse amongst yourselves, but you split into groups of two and play together while talking to eachother in the same party. You can switch partners in between chapters, and for crossover events, you can all play together. This also goes for Mercenaries, you can even switch up partners and have a contest seeing whose combination can rank up the highest score. For Agent Hunt, you can have a 2v2 Match.

Keeping you all together in the party makes it more fun than just you and another random person you've never played with. Which is why I'm having this party system instead of a 2 people.

Time Discussion[]

10/5/12: The day of the community event has been moved from tommorrow to next Saturday due to time still needing to be decided. This also gives us more time to gather more people, cause with the exception of crossover events, all teams should have either two or four people for maximum enjoyment.

Now for something very important. What time should we have. First question: which do you prefer: Each individual team decide on what time they want? Or do you want a universal time for all the teams to participate. Team Specific Time is easier to plan, but Universal time makes it feel more like a Community Event. Vote below by stating why and signing your name on the list below. Voting for this will end on Tuesday:

Team Specific Time[]

Universal Time[]

Support SupportMight be harder to do, but maintains the feel of a community event.
