Chat moderators (short: "ChatMods") are overseers of the wiki chat room, maintaining adherence to the chat rules and removing problematic users. This page acts as a method to nominate users as potential candidates for chat moderator responsibilities.
Requirements[]
All candidates must have the following requirements to be eligible for nomination:
- At least one months experience on the chat; through sustained activity.
- 100 edits of any kind; can be viewed here.
- Be able to read and understood the chat rules.
Nominations[]
- As a general rule, as of March 2015 rulings only ChatMods can vote and nominate candidates. As such, non-ChatMod votes and nominations will be nullified, and unsigned users are locked-out, altogether.
- Voting is split into two houses: the Lower House run by ChatMods and the Upper House run by the Commissariat. At least one vote from the People's Commissariat for Chat Moderation must be made or the nomination will fail.
- The electorate will be given three days to decide over whether or not the candidate should be granted ChatMod status. The candidate must have a minimum majority of 60% (three-fifths) - formerly 66.66% (two-thirds) - of the votes in favour of them, with a minimum number of votes being three, with at least one vote from either House.
- The election must also pass in both Houses to succeed.
- If a ChatMod has been inactive for over three weeks a vote is allowed for their demotion. It is advised that the nominator ask other users if they have seen this individual recently to confirm genuine inactivity.
