And I gotta be honest, this is my least favorite RE game that I played. This is the only entry that I didn't have as much fun as the others for multiple reasons:
-The enemy designs horrible and most of them are very bullet sponge
-The atmosphere was underwhelming
-The partner A.I. is much worse than the one from RE5
-The gunplay is so basic and just not very satisfying
-The story is way too confusing and unfocused, even by RE standards
-I didn't care about any of the new characters
-The campaign is way too long than it should have been
-The boss fights are badly designed
-The puzzles are painfully easy, for the most part
This game is basically a 3DS game that was MADE for Nintendo 3DS for a reason but it happened to be ported for PC and consoles. The thing that I liked the most about is that it's only entry of the franchise which gives BSAA Corporation more character to it. I also wish this game focused more on the survival horror of a ship where our hand wouldn't be held instead of throwing us chapter that take place in different. Code Veronica used to be my least favorite RE title but not anymore.
Many would say the Revelations games in general are better than RE5 and 6 (Hell, even 7 and Village for some) and while I do understand in some ways, I highly disagree with that. While RE5 is more action focused, it actually adds a lot of replayability, it had a much better enemy variety and Wesker just makes the whole game worth it despite his weak motivation. RE6 is understandbly considered the worst but at least I can laugh at how bad the story was and I think the gameplay is just more satisfying. And there is absolutely no way the Revelations games are better than the recent entries. RE7 and Village have more replayability, better enemy designs, better pacing, better characters, better gunplay, better boss fights and better atmospheres. I also shouldn't forget that the Revelations games leave way too many things open for no reason other than sequel baiting which won't end up existing.
But overall, this is just my opinion. I don't expect most of you to agree with me. I mostly just love all the main entries of the franchise from 1 to Village for different reasons. Not the biggest fan of the spin-off titles.
