You know Code Veronica is not a film, right?
I'd take Infinite Darkness over anything live-action. It was supposed to be a film, but Netflix mandated it be split into a miniseries because they get more viewership on series.
Someone's generalizing opinions. Leon's not perfect. His development from RE2 to RE4 is a bit jarring, since he goes from by the books rookie to super-cool but dorky secret agent in the space of two games. I'd also argue he's a bit too generic in Vendetta and Infinite Darkness.
Either Jill or no-one. I don't care if it was an option or not. She's not appeared in the series for over 10 years (excluding the RE3make), so if anyone deserves to come back, it's her.
Jill Valentine. End of conversation.
Cutscenes make up to about 40% (at most), since you still have to go up against enemies and a lot of the game does feature exploration. I'm also not sure what difficulty you've been playing on, since a lot of the enemies can be taken down with at least one shotgun blast or sniper shot.
Also, RE does have a history of campy/cringy dialogue, with prime examples being OG RE1 and RE C:V. Even RE4, widely regarded as the series' best entry, has this in troves. For example:
Salazar: "I'm sending my right hand to deal with you!"
Leon: "Your right hand comes off?"
Resident Evil (2002)
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Probably the giant statue and I imagine several bosses will face the cut.
It's your opinion, so I'm not going to argue against it. Personally, I really enjoy RE7 and consider it one of the best entries in the series.
Vendetta would make the top 10 compared to others. As for more sillier options, where do I start?
Steve's actions in Code: Veronica
Zero's main villain turning out to be a Leach monster that believes itself to be its creator
The giant statue chase in Salazar's castle
Chris moving a twenty-ton boulder with nothing but his fists
Simmons' "plan" in RE6
Rose surviving being dismembered by Miranda and the Four Lords
I prefer the remake's outfit. It just appears more practical than skimpy dress in the original.
I don't really get why people want an RE4make. The game has aged incredibly well and fits the current style of the series really well. Of all the games from the 6th gen of consoles, I think RE C:V really deserves a remake at the moment.
Nailed it!
I'm not getting hung up on the casting of Leon, since they've cast a perfect Chris and I'm pretty optimistic about Scodelario and John-Kamen as Claire and Jill, respectively. CGI looks bad apart from the Lickers, but that was expected since the Anderson "attempts" had terrible effects as well. However, the production design looks like they're trying to recapture the games more than the non-Japanese films. The international trailer is way better than the actual trailer we got, so I'd recommend checking that out if you want something that's a bit more "serious".
Quick thoughts/Anderson bashing: I'm pretty excited that it's actually going to feature RE lore rather than copy/paste it on generic post-apocalypse sci-fi/zombie films. I've also noticed they included the Ashford twins, so might they be setting up them as villains in a potential sequel. However, that could also be a slippery slope, since REC:V is arguably where the series got bonkers and over reliant on lore. Also no Alice: thank god. One of my biggest complains about the films is that they chose to use a generic Mary Sue rather than any of the games' female protagonists.
Hard to say really. At first glance, it sounds like either a fan game or a name for people who like complaining about RE for attention/ad revenue. However, I've seen the name pop up in a Comic Book.com article as the name released by a prominent leaker. I think it might just be a developing title for a new RE game, similar to how many of RE4's demos were given titles like Castle, Hallucination, and Zombie.
Just for the record, no: I wouldn't recommend adding the info to the wiki, due to the reliability of leakers and general policy on add the "leaked" info.
The films are Resident Evil in name only. That's all I'm going to say because you either love them or hate them (and I hate them with a passion).
Really? What proof do you have? You know Capcom "confirmed" Valenfield as an April Fool's joke, right?
According to files in Rev2, Jill was still in quarantine after Africa due to being used as a test subject by Wesker. Assuming she was eventually released, it's likely she returned to service. It'd be nice to see her in a game sometime soon, as it's almost been a decade since she's been the main character (excluding the REmake3).
Props to those who've picked RE4, but I feel C:V has not aged well compared to it. With the gothic-horror elements seen in VILLage, I'd think it'd be interesting to see what modern Capcom could do to the original game. Also, it'd be for the better to retcon out Steve's annoying personality and creepy tendencies.
Which Rebecca novel is that: Caliban Cove, Underworld, or another I've not heard of?
