23rd July

  • Billy Coen and his Marine unit were dispatched to intervene in an African civil war and specifically to take down a guerilla hideout in a certain African village. However, the chopper landed far enough away from their location to require them to walk, causing the Marines to die from ambushes and heat stroke until only four members of the Marine unit, including Billy, arrived at their destination. However, it turned out the village had nothing to do with the guerillas and as such did not have a guerilla hideout due to faulty information. The unit leader then ordered his men to execute the village, which included 23 people, with Billy protesting against the deed, and ended up framed for it.[1][2][3][4][5]

31st July

  • Albert Wesker returns to the Spencer Mansion lab after his absence and re-unites with William Birkin.[citation needed]
  • Wesker asks himself why Spencer would authorise research on the G-Virus as it was a virus which could potentially deviate from the original concept of a Bio-Weapon. Also, the G-Virus as a weapon is too unstable as it continues to mutate within a host until the host dies. No matter what Birkin could do to try and stop the mutations, they would occur nonetheless.[citation needed]
