ALC-5000 as seen in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

The ALC-5000 was a train owned and manufactured by the Umbrella Corporation. It was used by their employees to enter and exit the underground research facility.

History

The train was boarded and commandeered by Raccoon Police Department officers Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine, with Chris and Claire Redfield riding alongside Sherry Birkin as passengers.

At some point during their voyage, the train was attacked by a mutated William Birkin, which tore it's way through the roof of one of the carriages and attacked Claire before being eliminated by Kennedy using a rocket launcher he'd discovered in the train's locomotive.

Further notes

• The train is a reference to the Galaxie 5000 featured in Resident Evil 2 and Outbreak.
• The train's name 'ALC' is a reference to the Alexi 5000 train featured in the 2002 Resident Evil film. Which, was itself a reference to Alexia Ashford, the main villain of Resident Evil CODE:Veronica, which Welcome To Raccoon City also references.
