The Amphibian Lickers were a variety of Lickers present on Alcatraz Island during an outbreak there in 2015.

Using the remaining assets of Glenn Arias and A-GUA Industries, Ltd. at their disposal, bio-terrorists Dylan Blake and María Gómez developed a new aquatic-modified variant of the Licker β. The new model of Licker were created using a new strain of t-Virus partially derived from the A-Virus with several creatures later modified to serve as incubators for mosquito bio-drones developed by a captive Dr. Antonio Taylor. These new Licker creatures retained the earlier Licker β's ability to climb walls and reproduce but lacked the exposed heart that plagued the earlier model. Furthermore unlike the earlier model, they also had a tail plus webbing on their limbs that assisted them in swimming and gill-like structures that resembled those of an axolotl and allowed them to breathe and expel oxygen while underwater. The creatures were also noted to possess a modified tripartite jaw structure with the lower jaw splitting in two, possibly due to latent genes from the Plaga strains used in the engineering of the A-virus.

Unfortunately while such modifications improved their combat abilities by allowing these creatures to fight efficiently in aquatic environments as much as on land, it came at a cost as the new Licker variant's durability was noted to be significantly reduced. This was best shown by the encounter between Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and the creatures in Alcatraz sewers. During this event several Lickers were killed simply with well-aimed headshots and an entire pack was later wiped out by Leon detonating three gasoline containers as a makeshift explosive, things that would have only stunned or inconvenienced other licker models by themselves. Following the death of Blake and Gómez and the destruction of the Alcatraz island lab the amphibious variant of Lickers was seemingly rendered extinct.[1]
