(DeCandido's novelizations of the Anderson films)
Anthony was born to an East German family in Berlin. After the death of Anthony's mother, his father decided the whole family had to leave. Securing a way to the United States, they changed their name to "Cain", translated from their German name. After reaching adulthood, Anthony moved to San Francisco, California and lost touch with the family. When returning from the Gulf War, his brother Timothy tracked him down to a crack den in Berkeley and tried to get him off the drugs. Whether due to the lack of drugs or his own depression, Anthony killed himself by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge.
