Antique Coin (アンティークコイン, antīkukoin) is an item in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

Purpose

Antique Coins are used to open locked bird cages. In Easy and Normal modes, the cages are initially located in the Yard area inside Zoe's trailer, and then they are moved to the Swamp area in the Mine Office with all progress made on unlocking them carried over, and only contain optional items. Steroids can be unlocked for 3 coins, Stabilizer for 5 coins, and the 44 MAG for 9 coins.

On Madhouse, the Assault Coin and Iron Defense Coin become available for purchase for 8 and 7 Antique Coins, respectively, alongside the Scorpion Key, now requiring 3 Antique Coins for purchase instead of being found in the basement. The total value of all items in Madhouse is 35 coins, and as only 33 are available in the game, Ethan cannot purchase all 6 items on Madhouse. even with the use of the Dirty Coin.

All antique coins can stack in a single inventory slot.

	Yard		Found in the trailer front of the birdcage containing the Magnum handgun.
	Old House 1F		After catching a small glimpse of Mia while crawling through a small hole, look for the coin on top of a trolley.
	Old House 1F		After finding the Crow Key in the outhouse, look on top of the toilet.
	Old House 2F	Altar	In a drawer near the scale.
	Testing Area 1F		At the end of a long corridor leading to a storage room, look inside the drawer of a green desk.
	Testing Area 2F		After the fight within the barn, look for a set of chest-high shelves and the coin can be found on a shelf near the corner.
	Wrecked Ship S1		When climbing through the ship, you'll witness a flashback. Once the flashback ends, drop into the hole and head right, the coin will be found at a dead end.
	Wrecked Ship 1F		After finding the dead body and dropping into the water, look for a ladder. The coin is to the left of the ladder, submerged in the water.
	Wrecked Ship 3F	Control Room	Located inside of a large red box, a lockpick can be found in the 2F of the ship.
	Wrecked Ship S2		Found inside of a locked box. Requires Corrosive to melt through the lock on the box.

	Testing Area 2F	Rest Area	On the shelves, after the room with Clancy's body.
	Wrecked Ship 1F	Laundry Room	In the leftmost washing machine.
	Wrecked Ship 4F	Bridge	At the bottom of the stairs leading to the third floor.
	Wrecked Ship 2F		On a table outside the Guest Room.
	Wrecked Ship 2F	Break Room	On the shelves next to the door, hidden in a small vase.
	Wrecked Ship 3F	Shower Room	In the corner of the hallway outside the Shower Room.
	Wrecked Ship S2		As you come through the first doorway, immediately turn right. The coin will be tucked away in the corner.
	Wrecked Ship S2		This coin can be found in the locked box. You'll need a Corrosive to open it.
	Wrecked Ship S2		After the encounter with Mia, it will be on a table to the right of where you enter the room from.
	Swamp		The coin will be on the right side of the swamp after jumping over the tree.

	Storage Area 1F		Go through the green door and use the Clown Key in the next room. The coin can be found on the left side of the wall.
