The aqua ring was located directly below the dormitory on the grounds of the Spencer Mansion. This area housed a larger Neptune and two smaller ones. To advance, the water must be drained followed by fighting the larger, who had to be killed to retrieve the Key for the Gallery.

- In the original Resident Evil, the aqua "ring" was merely a small rectangular tank in the main room. In the GameCube remake, however, the room became circular and contained two floors. The surrounding rooms were also completely redesigned - nothing from the original game's floor plan remained intact.
- As Chris, the Assault Shotgun becomes available as Richard sacrifices himself to fight the older Neptune prior to draining the ring.
