This unnamed Arctic research facility was a bioweapons research outpost owned and operated by the Umbrella Corporation in Alaska.[1] Built within an isolated house in the Arctic Circle, the laboratory was confined within its basement.
History[]
When the facility was opened is uncertain, though it was operational by 1998. Under the command of Dr. Dexter Whitlam, this facility and another in Mexico continued bioweapons research after the destruction of Raccoon City. The two projects undertaken by this facility were the G-Virus and X-Virus projects, with the former verifying the viability of G-Virus B.O.W.s against soldiers and the latter verifying the superiority of "X" B.O.W.s. By the end of October 1998, however, Dr. Whitlam was recognised to Umbrella as a rogue entity syphoning their resources for his own ends. The facility itself was heavily damaged during a raid by members of S.T.A.R.S. Charlie Team and Whitlam killed.
