Pterodactyls, or Dacs, were the large bird-like creatures shown in Resident Evil: Underworld. They appeared in the first stage of "The Planet". The Dacs were supposed to look like the modern concept of Pterodactyls, hence the name Dacs. They had a large wingspan and extremely large talons, allowing them to land on the large branches in the first stage. The creator of the Dacs, Jay Reston, said that they were more close to bats than anything. They are not at all resistant to damage, bleed when shot, and tend to die after only a few small handgun blasts to their bodies. Also known as AV1's
