ORC backstory
(Operation Raccoon City's backstory)

The B.O.W. Programming Lab was a classified Umbrella facility located in northern Raccoon City. Located close to the P-12A Waste Disposal Facility, this facility was constructed underground beneath a large warehouse allowing for covert transport of research materials.

History[]

Just before the Raccoon City incident, the facility was the site of next-generation bioweapons research which included the NE-α and NE-β parasites as well as research on their effects on host lifeforms. One of these experiments was the implantation of an NE-α into a T-103 Tyrant. The procedure was deemed a failure, and with the sudden contamination of t-Virus in Raccoon City any efforts to remove the parasite or dispose of both were put on hold. The disease soon spread among the research staff, allowing the facility's NE-β parasites to escape containment. Seeking a replacement NE-α for the Nemesis T-02, USS Command ordered Delta Team into the facility to retrieve the parasite themselves. During their departure, the T-103 woke up and began a rampage of the facility hunting down any organism not controlled by a parasite. Unequipped to fight the T-103, Delta Team was forced to evacuate instead.[1]

Later in the week, US Army special operations team Echo Six discovered the facility during their search for a separate facility used for G-Virus research. While there they discovered a second T-103 being programmed to hunt down Sherry Birkin and retrieve her locket, containing vital research material. With orders to protect Birkin, Echo Six set off a series of charges in the facility designed to destroy it. While successful, the T-103 survived and became a host to a NE-β.[2]
