BIOHAZARD i SURVIVOR (バイオハザード iサバイバ) was one of the first official mobile games based on the Resident Evil series, developed by Living Mobile and released in 2001.[1] Along with BIOHAZARD i SURVIVOR, BIOHAZARD Zombie Buster and BIOHAZARD Zombie Shooter were released in 2001.
The game was developed for players using the Docomo network provider, with access to their i-mode internet service. Therefore, it was accessible only in Japan for 315 yen a month. It's unknown for how long the game was available, but a commercial page of the game was online up to April, 2009.[2]
Gameplay
The game works on an experience level system, where the more enemies are defeated in battle the higher a player level will go. At least three stats can be upgraded; them being "attack", "recovery" and "discovery".[3]
Taking advantage of the internet connectivity, i SURVIVOR gamers can partner up and form a "S.T.A.R.S. team" with other players, but the number of partners a player has is limited to their experience level, increasing over time.[3] Players could share information to solve puzzles cooperatively and share weaponry or specific items such green herbs.[4]
Plotline
Tha game takes place during the Raccoon City outbreak, apparently taking in consideration the events of the first Resident Evil and ignoring the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. As it introduces new S.T.A.R.S. members who were never heard from again in later installments, this game is not canon for the mainstream continuity.
Cast
Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy were featured along with a cast of five new S.T.A.R.S. members.[5]
