Prime universe
(Capcom's primary storyline)

The Baby Flea (tentative) is an unnamed offspring that is born when a Drain Deimos lays an egg. They were only seen in the Raccoon City Destruction Incident in 1998. Unlike their parents, the Baby Fleas were not caused by accidental mutation, but instead created through natural birth after their parents were exposed to the t-Virus. However, due to the viral strain, these creatures are significantly larger than a normal offspring would have been, being roughly the size of a human's shoe.

Much like the Baby Spiders seen in the same game, they have similar characteristics, although they do not possess their similar poisonous traits to them.

Gameplay[]

Baby Fleas have two stages; an inactive and an active stage. They are born when a Drain Deimos lays an egg on the ground, and will remain inactive until Jill Valentine approaches the egg, where it will then hatch.

Once hatched, Baby Fleas will target the player. These creatures have relatively miniscule health, but make up for it for being small and hard to hit. These enemies have only one attack, which is to jump at Jill's head and hitting them; this deals trivial damage and does not kill her in any capacity. Additionally, this attack will cause the creature itself to fall upon its back, leaving it very vulnerable to any counterattack.

Due to their diminutive stature and low health, they can be killed by simply stepping on them.

Further notes[]

  • While these creatures do appear in the Resident Evil 3 remake, their status as an enemy was removed and instead replaced by them becoming the status effect known as Parasite.
    • Additionally, the method which these creatures are born in the remake differ from their original counterpart.
