The "Bad Epilogue" is a cutscene in Resident Evil Outbreak File #2's End of the Road scenario. It only plays if the player escapes Raccoon City without Linda Baldwin, an Umbrella researcher who held the necessary information to create a trial drug that could prevent t-Virus mutation.[1]
Plot[]
There are two possible explanations for the Bad Epilogue.
- Without Linda and her knowledge of the trial drug, the t-Virus spreads globally, leading to the "worldwide bloodshed" mentioned in the newspaper.
- The newspaper headline is actually referencing the rise of bioterrorism, which becomes a central theme in later entries of the series.

Narrator: Before long, as they always do, people stopped talking about the disaster which struck down the once peaceful town of Raccoon City.
Time, as they say, heals all.
Yet, even so, we must never forget about the horrific events leading up to the catastrophe, or history will surely repeat itself.
However, the harsh reality may be that mankind lacks the power to close the book on this disaster... once and for all.
やがて人々は消えた街のことを話さなくなった
時間…それはまるで万病の薬だ
ただ忘れてはならないあの日々が現実だったことを
…物語を終わらせる力はまだ我々にはないのかも知れない
