The good/bad ending decision in the original game occurs when you return to the Mansion. After fighting Yawn a second time, you'll drop down a hole. Barry will drop the rope, trapping you. He'll leave the room for 4-5 minutes. If you wait for him, it proves you trust him, and you'll get the Best ending. If you find your own way out, he'll be fated to die. HOW he dies is up to what you do in the underground.
