Bob was a Raccoon City security guard and a friend of Mark Wilkins.
Biography
When the Zombie outbreak became apparent, Bob was already on the verge of complete infection, and had lost consciousness around the time Will the bartender was attacked. Once Bob regains consciousness, he is aided by Mark and two other survivors and taken to the rooftop of J's Bar.
Death
After stating that he can no longer move, Bob remarks to Mark that he feels the same way as the zombies, claiming that he "feels the hunger". As Mark protests, Bob puts his own handgun to his head and commits suicide. Mark is devastated by the loss, crying out Bob's name in sorrow.
Gameplay
Bob is a selectable NPC that can be purchased for 500 points in Resident Evil Outbreak, and through the Data Convert option in File #2. Bob is a Mark-type character and has the same physical traits and skills (such as the Big Swing and the ability to block attacks) as Mark. This is strange considering that Bob is noticeably small in comparison to Mark. Bob starts with the "Handgun for Mark" as his personal item and is given handgun rounds as his extra item. He becomes a liability in play due to the fact that his starting condition is Danger and he's already infected with the t-Virus. On higher difficulties, it is not uncommon for Bob to be killed before the player even reaches him.
Bob can get damaged by zombies during the Outbreak scenario, however he can't be cured by Cindy Lennox, nor with the help of First Aid Sprays. If zombies manage to kill him before reaching the rooftop, the player won't be able to obtain his handgun.
Trivia
- The player can choose to help him, but after he is brought to the roof of the bar, he decides to kill himself to prevent himself from turning into a zombie. This scene can only be triggered if Mark is still alive once the group reaches the roof.
- When the player finally escorts him to the rooftop, a cut scene will play where he and Mark talk about Bob's condition, In every mode Easy, Normal and Hard mode he'll kill himself leaving his handgun behind. But on Very Hard mode, he'll become a zombie and attack the player.
