Capcom genres are labels Capcom applies to their own video games in advertising and specifically on the Japanese box-art. The use of making up genres is part of Capcom's common practice of giving unique names to concepts or game mechanics such as, “Partner zapping”, the “Crossover System”, and recently “Isolated view”.
While the major title releases all use “Survival Horror”, there have been instances where Capcom employees described specific games as other new genres such as "Dramatic Horror" for Resident Evil 6.
