The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC for short) is a United States federal agency which serves as the country's national public health agency. It is part of the Department of Health and Human Services and is headquarted in Atlanta, Georgia. It is responsible for disease control and management primarily within the United States, but also participates in international efforts.
History[]
The CDC was partly responsible for the quarantine of Raccoon City and the surrounding lower Midwest areas during the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident.[1]
In 2006, a team of CDC officials led by Dr. Lee was called into Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by USSTRATCOM agent Leon S. Kennedy to disinfect t-Virus-contaminated areas during a string of bioterror incidents in the city.[2]
