(Capcom's primary storyline)
Coco was a gravure idol who took part as a contestant on the Japanese reality show Idol Survival.[1]
At some point during the show, she ended up having to flee from a pursuing creature. She then tripped, only to find herself face-to-face with a strange man wearing a tribal mask and carrying a harpoon. She then is impaled with the harpoon with enough force that her arm is apparently cut clean off.
Her disappearance did not go unnoticed, as a cameraman, AD Tominaga, searched for her in the jungle due to her disappearing there. By that time, she was already zombified due to infection from the t-Virus.
AD Tominaga already expressed a dislike of her beforehand after a brush-in with her, and Laura Bierce also indicated that she was a bad drunk due to seeing her passed out and dizzy on the beach.
