On the exterior corridor, a U.S.S. Delta Team operator radios in that the team has secured the Ecliptic Express. At the Umbrella Chemical Plant's Monitor room passage, Albert Wesker and William Birkin confirm the transmission. The two discuss the spread of the t-Virus and their plans to eliminate the train, cuffing the microphone to ensure that their conversation is private. Suddenly, a group of Leeches appear while the Delta Team operator is relaying their estimated time of arrival. The Leeches swarm the operator as another operator exits the operator cab to investigate. Both are swarmed by the Leeches as they scream in agony and try to break free. Wesker attempts to make further contact, but it is too late. After the attack is finished, the Leeches slip away from the bodies.
A member of the Umbrella Security Service Delta Team, while overlooking the side of the train, uses his radio to report to his handlers, Albert Wesker and William Birkin that they have successfully regained control of the Ecliptic Express (thus explaining why it seemed to mysteriously restart its engine earlier). Meanwhile, at the control center of the training facility, after Wesker confirms the transmission, Birkin expresses confusion as to how the t-Virus leaked, not to mention how it infected both the lab as well as the mansion despite it being three miles apart from each other, to say little about the Ecliptic Express. Wesker then cuffed the microphone to ensure that his response to Birkin was private, and informed him that it no longer matters as they need to ensure that it is kept under wraps, meaning they must completely destroy the train. After this, he then asks the Delta Team soldier how far are they from the nearest branch line. The Delta Team soldier then attempts to tell him that they are ten minutes away, but was interrupted by the sight of leeches leaking out of the grates as well as swarming him causing him to panic and fire his gun at the leeches to ward them off to no avail, with Wesker also trying to inquire what happened as he hears the commotion. Another Delta Team member steps out just in time to see this, but like his partner, is swarmed and killed while screaming in agony.

Birkin's dialogue was changed in the localization to directly mention the Ecliptic Express when describing the range of the viral spread, whereas the Japanese script was referring to the train anyway.

"Delta Team" is a cutscene in Resident Evil 0.[1] The scene introduces Albert Wesker, William Birkin, and the U.S.S. Delta Team.

Plot[]
