Derek was an operative of the Umbrella Security Service, and may have belonged to the U.S.S. Alpha team, who infiltrated the Raccoon City Underground Laboratory in September 1998.
Trivia
- Derek's character skin can only be accessed through cheat devices such as GameSharks. He spawns with an iron pipe while in danger mode.
- Remarking he starts the scenarios in a Danger status, it's presumed that he has died during the Raccoon City Destruction Incident, since most deceased NPC (Bob, Frank, Hursh) start in a danger condition.
- His vest is damaged and if he was stabbed, this might mean he was the U.S.S field agent that was stabbed by Birkin and was left for dead, being left to an ultimate fate of being eaten alive by rats.
