Dorothy Lester was an American woman local to Raccoon City, and a participant in an illegal human trial performed by doctors at her local hospital on behalf of Umbrella USA.
Biography[]
Lester suffered from an unspecified heart condition which caused significant strain on her body. By May 1993, she was living at a hospital in the Arklay Mountains where her husband, Al, worked as chief of medicine, and required a breathing apparatus.[1]
In that year, the hospital was given an offer by Dr. Greg Mueller of Umbrella USA to take part in a clinical trial of t-JCCC203. While the trial already resulted in the death of one patient soon after it cured his cancer, Lester's husband was adamant in saving his wife, and she was put on the trial.[2] Infected with the virus on 20 May, Lester's heart problems went away after a day and she was able to breathe on her own. On 23 May, Lester began showing symptoms consistent with Zombification, and was noted in reports for her "voracious appetite".[1]
Later that year, Lester attacked, killed, and partially ate Kurt, a journalist who was investigating the clinical trial. She apparently died soon after this incident which led to the hospital shutting down. Her body was left in storage in the ICU, and was consumed by "Dorothy", a Monster Plant infected with t-JCCC203.
Gameplay[]
Dorothy can be unlocked as a playable character in Resident Evil Outbreak File #2. She's a Cindy-type character. Dorothy starts in FINE condition with a Blue Herb (perfect for the herb kit she comes with). She has an exceptionally high health level for a Cindy-type, with it somewhere between 3100 and 3500. She has a speed of 0.86%, an infection rate of 1.38% per minute, and an attack multiplier of x0.83.[3]
