The Dragunov SVD (RIF) is a semi-automatic sniper rifle that appears in Resident Evil 5. It can be found in Chapter 2–2 in a locker located in the building after the cutscene with Irving.
Gameplay[]
It has a starting firepower of 650, reload speed of 2.83, and a capacity of 7. Fully upgraded, it has a firepower of 1300, reload speed of 2.41, and a capacity of 18. It fits roughly in the middle of the RE5 Sniper Rifle range, having a semi-automatic firing mode making it faster than the Sako S75 but not as powerful, and with a lower magnification scope than the PSG-1, so the unique PSO-1 scope requires some practice to use. It is also the most unstable compared to other two sniper rifles, making it difficult to place shots at longer ranges. However, the AI player can handle this weapon pretty well, so you can equip PSG-1 and have the AI partner equip the SVD if you cannot handle the latter and still want to equip two semi-auto sniper rifles. It also costs the least to fully upgrade.
It costs 15,000 Exchange Points to buy infinite ammo for the weapon.
In The Mercenaries, it is used by Sheva in her BSAA costume and The Mercenaries Reunion by Barry.
