The Ebola virus is an RNA-virus first discovered around the Ebola valley in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It posed a serious risk to the global human population after the virus, which has a high-mortality rate, was discovered in the United States.
Umbrella began testing on the Ebola virus in the 1980s, and used the Arklay Laboratory as a base for viral research both into the development of a vaccine and into its potential as a bio-weapon.[1]
