I watched him writhe in pain upon the floor in a pool of his own blood. The expression on his face was positively exquisite." — Chief Irons records his pleasure upon killing Edward.

Edward was a police officer for the Raccoon City Police Department. During the Raccoon City Destruction Incident, he, alongside a number of other officers, was attempting to hold the line within the fortified police station. Chief Irons, now insane and sabotaging the RPD in every possible way, shot Edward in the back, fatally wounding him. Irons notes in his personal journal that Edward stared up into his eyes in shock as he died, which Irons found to be "positively exquisite," strongly implying his sadistic nature.
