Template:Era Template:Weapon Infobox Eggs can be found throughout both Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, usually dropped by egg-laying animals such as snakes or chickens.

There are four different types of eggs: Gold, White, Brown and Rotten. White eggs are the most common, then Brown, then Gold, then Rotten.

In-game, eggs can either be eaten for health recovery or thrown at the enemy. Gold eggs are the most sought after as they fully restore the player's health when eaten. Gold, White, or Brown eggs have a chance of stunning an enemy when thrown at them, though being hit with a Rotten egg will make a Majini drop dead no matter how healthy they were. Killing a Majini this way unlocks the "Egg on your Face" Achievement/Trophy. (15 G or Bronze respectively).

Trivia

  • Unlike Resident Evil 5, RE4 has no rotten eggs, only White, Brown and Gold.
  • Eating a rotten egg will cause a player to lose a large amount of health; on the harder difficulties, the amount lost is enough to require resuscitation.
  • Throwing a rotton egg at most enemies will kill them in one hit, exeptions are bosses.
  • in RE4, eggs are no where close to deadly, but if thrown at a gannado jumping over a body of water (ex. the dam in chapter 2) they will fall in, this is good for saving ammo.
