• Depending on the player character in Resident Evil's campaign, Enrico Marini will react differently before his death.
  • In Chris' Story, Enrico will act paranoid towards Chris Redfield and aggressively tells him to stay back. Accusing him of being a "double-crosser", he aims his gun to shoot him, only to be gunned down by an unseen Captain Albert Wesker. As he dies, Enrico only whispers "Umbrella" to Chris, leading him to wonder who "double-crosser" was.
  • In Jill Story, Enrico Marini acts more friendly towards Jill Valentine and will ask her if she was with anyone else. After the response, he tells her explicitly that S.T.A.R.S. has a mole tied to Umbrella on its Alpha Team. However, he is gunned down by presumably Wesker before he can tell her more. This likewise will cause Jill to become suspicious of Barry Burton, the only other male S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team member accounted for, unaware that Wesker was the actual mole.
• The official Resident Evil website provided non-canon biographies for characters with the help of GamePro. Its entry for Enrico Marini says: "Bravo Team’s leader and Wesker’s second in command for the S.T.A.R.S. unit. Enrico feels threatened by the arrival of the Alpha Team, thinking that Chris or Barry may end up replacing him as #2 to Wesker. Nonetheless, Enrico is a dedicated S.T.A.R.S. operative and is always proud to lead the unit when Wesker lets him."
