Several lions that were brought to the zoo to mate with the zoo's lion Max. During the Viral outbreak incident, they became infected with the t-virus, causing them to mutate, gaining more stamina and causing their feral instincts to grow. They can be found several times in Outbreak File #2 in the Wild Things scenario.
Trivia
- Ferals are extremely weak against the Spear.
- Ferals can be dispatched with one shot from the Hunting Rifle in all difficulty modes.
- There is a feral hidden in the back of a closed van in the Service Road area. There are no items to be obtained in the van, but opening the doors will release the feral. Thus, opening the doors is not recommended.
- Ferals have an instant death attack that uses the same animation as the Stalker's instant death attack.
- After the Stalker has been killed on hard and very hard modes, the feral(s) in the area can still attack the player. However, the player does not have to kill the feral(s) - he or she can simply walk to the tram to end the scenario.Template:CreaturebyGame
