These are screenshots of the game before the initial release. Some of them come from the official trailer featured on the Development page, others however came from magazines or other publications. It should be noted that any camera angle differences are most likely related to the developers using a "chase cam" during development to get better images.
This comes from the Trailer and features Cindy Lennox throwing a stick. The camera angle is different most likely because it's the developers' chase cam used for the trailer.
The original title of the game.
Another demonstration of the Chase cam the developers used during development. Here we can see Underbelly's platform.
The player used to be able to exit the hospital in The Hive scenario apparently. Interestingly, the exit data for this and another door in the hospital are still coded as being opened, however the game triggers a message to prevent the player from opening it in the final. The room data no longer exists however, resulting in a crash if the player forces these doors to open.
A boiler room not featured anywhere in game. however, it does make an appearance on the violence warning screen of the first Outbreak.
Clearly a pre-release image of Below Freezing Point. Two characters that go unused in the final version of the game and File #2 are featured: Miguel and Mac Dowell.
Alyssa and Kevin conversing with Hersh in an area of Below Freezing Point. Either Hersh was originally set to be an NPC here, or it's his playable NPC version. This image is actually featured on the back of the US version's case.
Lucy Mallet handing an item to Mark Wilkins in Flashback. Lucy is using her earlier model design. It is unknown if she was intended to be a playable NPC or just a support character.
Jim and Cindy facing off with a Zombie in a room of A Day in Raccoon Motel.
same image.
An unknown FMV sequence image.
Mickey reading a Newspaper in the lobby of his Motel. This image may give a timeline of when the scenario takes place.
Al Lester's Cabin with David King firing a handgun.
Underbelly's Employee passage with characters firing guns in different directions.
Yoko Suzuki wielding a handgun in presumably the Marshaling Yard.
More of "A DAY IN RACCOON" Motel. And again, one of the same zombies seen in a lot of these pre-release images.
Mickey talking to David and about to enter a room. The text says "Stay here" or something to a similar effect.
More of the motel. Seems to be the outdoor portion.
Not much to note here. It's an image of a hallway in Below Freezing Point. The lighting looks considerably different.
Another room in the Motel.
Seems to be a diorama shot of some sort. At any rate, the more notable part of this image is that the PC's are all standing out side the front entrance of "A Day in Raccoon" Motel.
Probably one of the best quality images of the Motel. In this image, it can be seen that the level would have been set during a thunderstorm. In the E3 Trailer, this is confirmed as lightning is seen flashing in one part of the level.
Mickey opening a door.
David getting bit by a zombie in one of the Motel's rooms.
This image is from the trailer. Apparently the Motel had a long wooden porch. In one of the images above, a the red car pictured here can be spotted indicating Yoko's location.
