The Main Hall of the Raccoon Police Station is a location featured prominently in Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 (known in both as Hall1F (ホール1F Hōru 1 F?)), Resident Evil Outbreak File #2, Resident Evil 2 remake and Resident Evil 3 remake. It also appears in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

Description[]

The main hall was used as the central hub for all activity by the officers of Raccoon City. During the Raccoon City outbreak, it was used as a shelter by survivors. There is a statue on the lower level of the Main Hall that opens a passageway when all of its Emerald Plates are in place. The statue also holds a key; it is dropped from the vase the statue is holding when the Unicorn Medal is placed in its slot. The statue is a remnant from when the police station served as Raccoon City's art museum. The Main Hall branches off via three doors: one door leads to the detectives' offices (the hallway with the pay phones), another door leads to the waiting room, and the last door leads to the officers' lobby. There is also an extendable ladder located on the wall opposite the main doors.

The hall's central focus is the reception desk, which houses a computer, a filing system, and a typewriter (presumably for taking down incident reports, so as not to tie up the hall's lone computer). Although Resident Evil 3: Nemesis depicts the doors to the detective's offices and waiting area as being boarded up and blocked off, they are simply locked in other games.

In Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, the main hall is portrayed having blood and papers scattered everywhere.

Guide[]

Resident Evil 2 (1998)[]

Upon entering this room, a short scene plays of the character looking up the hall. At the center desk, there is a Typewriter, a pack of Ink Ribbons, a pack of 30 H. Gun Bullets in Leon A and Claire A, a Shotgun in Leon B, and the G. Launcher in Claire B.

Using the Unicorn Medal on the central statue will reveal the Spade Key.

In the A scenarios, the doors to the Reception desk and the 1F lobby will initially be locked and the player can only go to the West office. After visiting the West office and coming back, a short will play where the player hear the door lock, and then they will no long be able to go back in. There is a computer where the Blue Card Key can be used to unlock the other doors.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis[]

Three Green herb can be found on the left of the main hall door, where as the handgun bullets is on the main desk.

Darkside Chronicles[]

The main hall is only visited three times in The Darkside Chronicles, two of them are on the Memory of a Lost City 2 chapter, where Claire and Leon arrive at the Police Station and find a weak Marvin Branagh near the main statue. When they come back to the hall at the end of the same chapter, Zombies will be in the room and Marvin will also turn into a zombie.

The main hall is last seen at the very start of Memory of a Lost City 3, where Leon and Claire are shown entering the 1F lobby in search of Sherry.

The main hall features no items, however there are many lights on the first and second floor that can be shot at which gives the player points.

Resident Evil 2 (2019)[]

Right after entering this room, the player's character will shout if there are any survivors left in the station. There is a First Aid Spray on the right side for later use. The center desk like in the original 1998 game also contains a Typewriter and also an Item Box. The player can also find Handgun Ammo or Ink Ribbons (Hardcore mode) there.

In the 2nd run scenarios for both characters, the Typewriter and Item Box are no longer found in the Main Hall, instead the player will obtain the Hip Pouch here and the Notebook with Missing Page besides Marvin Branagh's corpse.

Also, at the back of the hall is the Goddess Statue, concealing a secret route out of the station.

Resident Evil 3 (2020)[]

The Main Hall retains the same main features like in the Resident Evil 2 remake although some rooms and doors there are inaccessible, especially the east part of the precinct.
