The Newspaper building (新聞社ビル) is an area of Downtown Raccoon City.[1]
Description[]
The reception room has a front desk, some pay phones, a vendine machine and a wanted poster among other files. The shutter to the stairs is down due to fire and will need to restore power in order to open it. The 2nd floor is engulfed in fire and the door will explode when Jill Valentine passes through.

The lobby area of the Raccoon Press
There's a First Aid Spray on the reception desk and a picture on top of a pay phone. Jill Valentine will have to push the step ladder in order to reach for the switchboard on top of the vendine machines to restore power. Then use the switch to open the shutters which will show a small scene where Jill backs off due to fire under the shutter as it's opening. Jill then proceeds to the 3rd floor as the 2nd floor was taken over by the fire.
