The Smith & Wesson 5906 was built from stainless steel and chambered for 9x19mm Parabellum. First entering production in 1970, it was tested by navy SEALs but not adopted into their arsenal. It was available as a single or double-action pistol until all production on this pistol ceased altogether in 1988.
In Resident Evil[]
The Smith & Wesson 5906 was utilized by J.D. in Resident Evil. He fired it five times at an Undead (twice in the knees, and three in the chest) before Rain sent it flying with her submachine gun. Whether or not it was utilized by One and the others is unknown but it can be assumed that this weapon was lost in the hive when J.D. was dragged away by a horde of Undead.
