Lisa Trevor (17 March 1953 – 1 October 1998) was a woman who was held captive by the Umbrella Corporation as a test subject in an illegal bioweapons trial. She was killed during the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident.

Biography[]

During her childhood, Trevor was placed at the Raccoon City Orphanage following the deaths of her parents at the order of Oswald Spencer. On November 17, 1967, Trevor became one of the earliest subjects to illegal bioweapons experimentation conducted by Umbrella Corporation. Initially injected with the Progenitor Virus, she was one of only a handful of subjects to survive and adapt to the virus, further experiments led to her developing near superhuman levels of strength and durability at the expense of extremely reduced mental and cognitive abilities.[1]

In 1978, Dr. William Birkin took over as the lead researcher, willing to risk their prize subject at the cost of further innovation, he injected her with the NE-α Type parasite which resulted in the creation of a rudimentary version of the G-Virus, which Birkin would spend the remainder of his life working on.

At some point in the mid-to-late 1980s, Trevor managed to escape her laboratory confinement and wandered to the orphanage facility located above, there she encountered a young Claire Redfield. The encounter with Lisa, along with the subsequent actions of her caretakers traumatized the young Claire, and led to her running away from the city.

By 1995, Trevor had become increasingly hostile and unproductive as a test subject, she was recommended for extermination and disposal by the Umbrella Security Service in 1997, but the team failed and she escaped confinement, escaping into the now abandoned orphanage, she was deemed too dangerous and further attempts to retrieve or neutralize her were abandoned.

A little over a year later, she was caught up in the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident, in which the experimental T-virus bioweapon spread amongst the general population. Lisa had managed to make her way back to the now run-down and Licker-infested orphanage where she met Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy who had been searching for a passage to the Spencer Mansion, after a brutal confrontation with a licker, Lisa was fortunately able to recognize Claire, and thus, helped lead them to the secret lab underneath the facility. She was presumably killed once-and-for-all, when the city was obliterated and all it's facilities destroyed to cover-up the incident.[2]

Notes[]

  • While her age is never explicitly stated in the film her identification bracelet on her wrist gives her date of birth as '3/17/1953' and both the bracelet and the dossier in the NEST facility suggest she first underwent experimentation on November 17, 1967, thirty years before the main events of the film. Actress Marina Mazepa, who portrays Lisa in the film, has stated that Lisa was fourteen when they began testing on her, which would make her in her thirties during her first encounter with Claire, and 45 years old during their reunion at the time of the Raccoon City incident.
  • In drafts of the film, Lisa was planned to appear towards the end and fight Birkin in his mutant form, but due to budget cuts in 2019 this was cut out.
