The Game Rank in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is an unseen mechanic that adjusts aspects of the game to make it more or less challenging based on how well the player is doing. It usually consists of a rank value of 0-9 that determines variables during gameplay such amount of damage enemies do. Rank is derived from a "rank reference point" which is affected by things that happen during gameplay such as taking damage.

In Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Rank is divided up between 0-9 and determined by every 1000 points in the player's rank reference point which its range depends on the difficulty. There is no rank 7 during the main game.
