*In the [[Queen Dido]], it is shown that many of the [[Il Veltro]] members turned into Globsters as a result of infection with the t-Abyss virus, with many not surviving. However, this is somewhat contradicted by the rest of the game, where human infection with t-Abyss is shown to result in transformation into an [[Ooze]] or a [[Sea Creeper]], based on gender, which serve as the "zombies" for Revelation. One possible explanation is that the Veltro terrorists mutated into Globsters as a result of being infected with highly concentrated doses of t-Abyss. An alternative explanation, not necessarily incompatible with the first, is that Oozes can eventually "evolve" or mutate into Globsters, similar to how [[Zombie]]s can transform first into [[Crimson Head]]s and then into [[Licker]]s.

The Globster is an irregular mutant created through the t-Abyss virus. They are featured as enemies in Resident Evil: Revelations.

History

The Veltro agents on board the Queen Dido were transformed into these beasts. While a number of them died in mid-transformation (likely when the ship exploded), others managed to survive and thrived in the underwater conditions.[1]

The following year, sometime in 2005, these creatures made their way to a nearby beach where they were studied (and in some cases killed) by BSAA agents Jill Valentine and Parker Luciani.[2]

Biology

Globsters appear as an amorphous blob with pinkish skin and a large, toothy mouth on their underside. Despite the fact that they are created from humans, nothing resembling a human is left. They have no discernible eyes, ears, nose, arms or legs. They move on land by undulating their "body," albeit rather slowly. Underwater, however, they move much quicker and more gracefully. They are capable of swimming faster than a human, as seen when the player is in the submerged sections of the Queen Dido.

Globsters take additional damage when shot in their vulnerable mouth tissue. They expose their mouths while moving and attacking. Underwater, they are deadly. They will instantly kill any player that is in their sight by swallowing them.

Gameplay

Globsters will be encountered during Episode 1-1.

Creature info in records section:

"A great number of these mysterious blob-like creatures drifted ashore on the Mediterranean coast. Their name is a contraction of "Grotesque Blob Monster", and is the generally accepted term for similar unidentified organisms that have been found on coasts across the globe. Very little is known about the Globster as well; if they too are the result of a virus infection, what could their original form have been...?"

  • The choice of the name "Globster" and their appearance may be a reference to the beach cryptids also known as globsters.
