(Capcom's primary storyline)
Guadaña (グアダニヤ guadaniya ) (Spanish: "Scythe") is a stage in the lifecycle of a Plaga (Spanish: "Las Plagas"), a parasitic species native to Spain. When Plagas mature, they reach the Mandíbula stage.
Biology[]
In this stage of their life, Plagas have soft bodies resembling flesh which pulsates, with yellow eyeballs and long tentacles. When they detect a threat they split their bodies in half and expose a giant long tentacle with a scythe-like end to it, which they violently swing at enemies.
Gameplay[]
Moveset[]
Stats taken from the biohazard4 kaitaishinsho guide.[1]
Attack name | Damage | Description |
---|---|---|
Tentacle Attack, Weak (触手攻撃・弱) | 500 | |
Tentacle Attack, Strong (触手攻撃・強) | 800 |
Strategy[]
They are the weakest form of Plaga and can die from a few shots from a handgun. Although not advised, Guadaña can be knifed. Slashes must be executed either on its center (host's head) or on the scythe-like tentacle when it attacks, which requires perfect timing. In Resident Evil 4 (2005), Guadaña is most commonly seen in the villagers after Chapter 2-1. Other appearances include the militia, Cultists and silver Armaduras. It is easy to deal with a group of Guadañas by just throwing a flash grenade as they are extremely sensitive to it and they die instantly, no matter how much health they have. The same goes for Mandibulas.
Further notes[]
- Guadaña only received a name in the 2023 remake. Prior to this it was only known in guidebooks as "Plaga A".
