The Guillotine square (ギロチン前広場)[1] was the execution site for prisoners. Whether the guillotine itself was ever actually used to execute convicts is undetermined, though it will open a door to an experimentation room when used.

During the player's first visit to this area, there will be a corpse hanging out of one of the netting in the side of the building. Walking up to it will trigger a cutscene to play, where it gets dragged under the building and a pool of blood spills out.
