Gun Powder A is one of the two primary gun powder types in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (whereas Gun Powder C is a mixture of gun powder types A and B). Depending on your chosen degree of difficulty, the maximum number of canisters gun powder type "A" jars contained within the scenario is nineteen (twenty-one if two of them appear in the third floor of the clocktower, in the place of a half-dozen rounds for the Mine Thrower).

It should be noted that each and every powder combination, when using the reloading tool, gives one point of experience to the player's total toward producing the same type of ammunition (gun powder mixtures "A", "A+A", "A+A+A", and "B+B+A" , all reward just one experience point).

The various types of ammunition that can be produced by combining gun powder type "A" are as follows:

1. A

  • 1-3 = 15 x Handgun Ammo
  • 4-6 = 17 x Handgun Ammo
  • 7 = 20 x Handgun Ammo
  • 8-11 = 20 x Handgun Ammo or 17 x Enhanced Handgun Ammo
  • 12+ = 23 x Handgun Ammo or 20 x Enhanced Handgun Ammo

2. A+A

  • 1-3 = 35 x Handgun Ammo
  • 4-6 = 39 x Handgun Ammo
  • 7 = 46 x Handgun Ammo
  • 8-11 = 46 x Handgun Ammo or 39 x Enhanced Handgun Ammo
  • 12+ = 53 x Handgun Ammo or 46 x Enhanced Handgun Ammo

3. A+A+A

  • 1-3 = 55 x Handgun Ammo
  • 4-6 = 61 x Handgun Ammo
  • 7 = 72 x Handgun Ammo
  • 8-11 = 72 x Handgun Ammo or 61 x Enhanced Handgun Ammo
  • 12+ = 83 x Handgun Ammo or 72 x Enhanced Handgun Ammo

4. B+B+A

  • 1-3 = 60 x Handgun Ammo
  • 4-6 = 66 x Handgun Ammo
  • 7 = 78 x Handgun Ammo
  • 8-11 = 78 x Handgun Ammo or 66 x Enhanced Handgun Ammo
  • 12+ = 90 x Handgun Ammo or 78 x Enhanced Handgun Ammo

Mixing every jar of Gun Powder, which gives any kind of Grenade Rounds (C, C+A, C+B, C+C), Jill will gain a point of expirience for obtaining more of ammunition. Also, there is a direct connection between those mixes and combinations of Gun Powder with Explosive Grenade Rounds (A + G.R.; AA + G.R.; AAA + G.R.; B + G.R.; BB + G.R.; BBB + G.R.; C + G.R.; CC + G.R.; CCC + G.R.) that also give the same point of expirience.

5. C+A

  • 1-3 = 10 x Flame Rounds
  • 4-6 = 11 x Flame Rounds
  • 7-11 = 13 x Flame Rounds
  • 12+ = 15 x Flame Rounds

Next orders are submitted for cases, when amount of combined Grenade Rounds equals one standard pack of them (6). If there are less then 6 Grenade Rounds, amount of Flame Rounds will be less respectively.

6. A + Grenade Rounds (Explosive)

  • 1-6 = 6 x Flame Rounds
  • 7-11 = 7 x Flame Rounds
  • 12+ = 9 x Flame Rounds

7. A+A + Grenade Rounds

  • 1-3 = 12 x Flame Rounds
  • 4-6 = 13 x Flame Rounds
  • 7-11 = 15 x Flame Rounds
  • 12+ = 18 x Flame Rounds

8. A+A+A + Grenade Rounds

  • 1-3 = 18 x Flame Rounds
  • 4-6 = 19 x Flame Rounds
  • 7-11 = 23 x Flame Rounds
  • 12+ = 27 x Flame Rounds
