The H&K PSG-1 (RIF) is featured in Resident Evil 5 as the third sniper rifle and second semi-automatic sniper rifle available to the player, and is the only sniper rifle available in Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape. It can either be purchased in the store, or found in a weapon case during chapter 5-3. It has a starting firepower of 600, reload speed of 2.55, a capacity of 5, and a scope magnification of 0. Fully upgraded, it has a firepower of 1200, reload speed of 1.370, a capacity of 15, and a scope magnification of 2.

When compared to the other sniper rifles, it has the weakest firepower and the smallest capacity, but also the most powerful zoom for the scope and the shortest reload speed.

It costs 15,000 Exchange Points to buy infinite ammo for the weapon.

This weapon is used by Jill in her Battlesuit costume in the Mercenaries minigame and by Chris in his Warrior costume in the Mercenaries Reunion.

Upgrade chart

It takes a total of ₦68,000 to buy and fully upgrade the PSG-1 or just ₦64,000 because the player and obtain the weapon itself off the map.

The weapon is shown to have the fifth characteristic "Semi-auto" indicated it can be fired without taking breaks between shots.

The likeness of the weapon appears as the Telescopic Scope Rifle card in the Resident Evil: The Deck Building Game.
The likeness of the weapon also appears in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D as Rifle / PSG 1. Is it part of Claire's default load out.
