Handgun Ammo is an ammunition item type in Resident Evil 4. In the game, you can obtain Handgun Ammo in two ways: by picking it up from enemies that drop it or by finding it scattered throughout the map. Each box of ammo takes up two inventory spaces (1x2), and you can carry up to 50 bullets per box. The Merchant in the game buys each bullet for 50₧, so you can sell any excess ammo you have. Ammo drops in sets of either 10, 15, or 20 bullets. This type of ammunition is compatible with only five guns in the game: the Handgun, Red9, Punisher, Blacktail, and Matilda.

Handgun ammo, along with other types of ammunition, can be infinitely farmed during the fight with Salazar in chapter 4-4. Every one of the infinitely spawning Plaga C will drop ammo.
