The SIG P228, dubbed the Handgun SG in Resident Evil Outbreak, is a semi-automatic pistol that was issued to Umbrella research facility employees. While it inflicted higher damage than a typical Handgun at closer range, it inflicted less damage at medium and long range. As well, it caused even less damage to "G".

This gun is incorrectly used in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles as Carlos Oliveira's sidearm, while his sidearm was in fact a SIG Pro SP2009.
