Hiro Wesker (ヒロ・ウェスカー Hiro Wesukā) was a candidate in Project W, a top-secret eugenics project masterminded by Oswell E. Spencer, Earl Spencer. Abducted from his family at a young age in the 1960s and given the surname "Wesker", Hiro was given the finest education money could afford and taught to see life in the same way Spencer did. In the 1990s, he was among thirteen candidates deemed suitable to advance to the second stage of the project, and was infected with a prototype t-Virus strain engineered explicitly for this project. Soon after, Hiro was reported dead, possibly having died as a result of the mutations.[1]
