Hiroyuki Kobayashi (小林 裕幸 Kobayashi Hiroyuki , born August 12, 1972 in Nagoya, Japan[1]) is a Japanese video game and television anime producer and supervisor. He is employed by Capcom.[1]
Works[]
Kobayashi studied computer science at Chukyo University. After graduating, he was hired at Capcom in 1995 as a programmer on the first Resident Evil game.[1] At the time Resident Evil was largely completed, having already transitioned towards pre-rendered backgrounds.[2] After working as programmer on the sequel and a planner on the first Dino Crisis game, his first producer role was on Dino Crisis 2 in 2000.[1]
Starting with the first Sengoku Basara game (titled Devil Kings in North America) in 2005, Kobayashi worked as the producer for the video game series as well as a planning supervisor for the various anime adaptations. He was very interested in the Sengoku period and wanted to create an action game inspired by that period.[3]
On March 31, 2022, Kobayashi had left Capcom as an producer and announced his departure via an tweet on August 12, 2022, with his intention of joining NetEase Games as an producer after his 27 years long of contribution.
