Plot[]
2022[]

Angel interrogated by Wesker
Jade Wesker is still not picking up the phone, though a camera alert confirms they are safe and just stopped at the house. Before he can go to them, Al Wesker is picked-up by Roth and taken to Umbrella HQ to meet with Evelyn Marcus, who has punished Simon Marcus for his party. Al is introduced to Angel Rubio, who Evelyn describes as being resistant to being bought into silence but is luckily only believed by conspiracy nuts and "4chan virgins". Al is ordered to interrogate Angel, but cannot leave to check on Billie Wesker when he gets a call. Expecting to get a rise out of him, Angel brings up knowing about him and his daughters, and Al finally begins beating him in anger.

Simon, Jade and Billie search for clues
Back home, Jade continues searching for any evidence to back up Angel's claims. Nothing online suggests anything untoward happening to Raccoon City - it was a simple accident. Jade brings up the glaring problems they have - Al never talks about his family life, and they do not know the identity of their closed surrogate donors. Billie is still dismissive, but is convinced to at least search for their birth certificates. They look through Al's room, finding various nondescript documents, copies of Sherlock Holmes books and The Da Vinci Code, parts for a gun and a dog whistle. Under the bed Jade finds Al's laptop, but it uses a different password to his usual Spock21, and Jade recruits Simon to crack it remotely. He is successful, but finds nothing relating to Raccoon City but does find his computer has a dead-drop which sends an email to Billie warning her to flee should he not input a password within 24 hours. Simon hacks into the cameras to play out one on a loop so they look to be still in the house, while they avoid the other cameras. Drawn to a family photograph, Jade finds a note detailing a traumatic experience Jade had as a clue, which leads them to the piano he played for her to cheer up after she had her tonsils removed. Playing Moonlight Sonata, the final note cannot be played due to something jamming the key, which suggests moving the piano. Doing so, Jade finds a hollow compartment in the floor containing a bag containing $10,000 USD, passports for Billie and Jade as "Anna and Mila Schneider" and a gun for protection. The two begin arguing over the revelations, but come back together after Simon mentions that Jade is only aggressive when it involves something she cares about. With Simon's help, they find an entrance to the basement locked by an RFID chip. Jade gets the idea that the dog whistle is a clue, and the door reads Pablo's collar.

Wesker's Lab immolated
Heading down into the basement, Billie and Jade lose their signal and must go alone. Downstairs they find a lab, and storage boxes containing their childhood toys next to other storage boxes related to Al's project. Jade finds samples of their blood in storage, and Billie finds a box labelled "RC 1998", containing reports on such things as Lisa and "cognitive response". Billie lifts up the Lisa folder, which reveals a DVD containing footage of a USS operation overseen by Al to infect Lisa with a sample. Another file describes Al's intentions to strap Billie to a chair should she deteriorate after 72 hours. Jade unhooks the computer hoping to steal it as evidence, but this triggers an intruder alarm. A fire is started which destroys the research data, which is then put down by gas.

Jade and Billie asks their father
Al enters the room, angry and confused the two were able to enter the lab. When Jade demands answers to their origins, he gives in: the two were born in the UCSF School of Medicine in San Francisco, using Tara Sutton and Alex Shaum's eggs as donors. Unconvinced he has their best interests in mind, Jade pulls a knife on him, with Billie bashing his head when he becomes enraged. Al wakes up strapped to the chair, and gives in to interrogation - the dog that bit Jade was infected with T-virus, which causes mutations; Billie appears to be resistant to the virus, He reveals the two girls were genetically modified to excel in mental and physical performances; Umbrella is aware of their origins, and will preserve Billie as a lab specimen if they find out she was infected.
2036[]
Jade is captured by a USS unit. Their commander watches them restrain her, then takes her helmet off to reveal she is Billie.
Production[]
Writing[]
Home Movies was pitched by Lindsey Villarreal on the concept of an episode built around Resident Evil tropes, with Billie and Jade solving clues around their house akin to Chris and Jill finding clues in the Spencer Mansion. As the writing staff were conscious as to the role of technology in the 2020s, Villarreal worked to incorporate Simon into the story as a necessary workaround for them to get around the security system of their smart home.[3]
Directing[]
Home Movies was directed by Rachel Goldberg as part of Block 4, filmed simultaneously in June and July alongside Revelation.
