History
it:Hunter γ
While developed in Europe, a number of "γ" models were transported to Raccoon City some time before the viral outbreak. At least two of them were being stored in the Umbrella lab underneath the Raccoon General Hospital. Carlos Oliveira, a Corporal in the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service, inadvertently released them while trying to synthesis a t-Virus reagent for Jill Valentine. By October 1, a pack had established their hunting ground in a pond at Raccoon Park.

A clawless version of the "γ" was being stored in the water treatment facility underneath Raccoon University at the same time. Quickly breaking out of their storage capsules also on October 1, these Hunters reacted well to the damp, subterranean environment and the pools of water in the plant.

While being considered improper for a B.O.W. due to the conditions necessary for survival, Umbrella nonetheless continued to produce the "γ" model as late as 2002, where a number were sold into the hands of Javier Hidalgo.
