"Stranger, stranger. Now THAT's a weapon!"

Resident Evil 4

The Infinite Rocket Launcher is a Rocket Launcher in Resident Evil 4. This weapon is unlocked after beating the main game once. The Infinite Rocket Launcher (or IRL) has unlimited rockets, and has massive stopping power, plus considerable splash damage, making it one of the most powerful weapons in the game. It can be purchased for 1,000,000 pesetas from the Merchant. Unlike the standard Rocket Launcher, the IRL is held on Leon's right shoulder, rather than on his back. It is equipped with a scope, which has range and wind markings, which serve no purpose as the rocket travels right where the center dot is aimed. It occupies 16 spaces in Leon's inventory (8x2), and although it seems large, it actually occupies less space because it does not require ammunition. It cannot be upgraded, but it is almost a moot point, because it causes on average 350 damage for a direct hit, and 166 damage to all enemies within the splash. It is based on the RPG-7 rocket propelled grenade launcher, and is anatomically identical to the Rocket Launcher. The Infinite Rocket Launcher's main drawback is that it lacks extreme close range power; although most point-blank shots will leave Leon unscathed (and most of the enemies defeated) there is a possibility that extreme close range shots (under 6 feet) will knock Leon to the ground, causing major damage (sometimes enough to die on Professional) and possibly throw Leon into a swarm of enemies. If you were to resell it after buying, it is worth 500,000 PTAS.

Resident Evil: Revelations

In Resident Evil: Revelations, the Infinite Rocket Launcher is unlocked by completing the game on Hell Mode.

Resident Evil 5

In Resident Evil 5, the option for turning on infinite ammo for rocket launchers is used instead. The option becomes available after the total time for each chapter combined is equal to, or less than 5 hours (difficulty is not a factor).
