- The name Iron Maiden is derived from an Early Modern prop, also known as the "Virgin of Nuremberg". These props were inspired by Medieval torture devices, and were in the form of an iron or wooden coffin tall enough to enclose a person, filled with strategically placed spikes to ensure a slow demise.
- If the player dodges the Iron Maiden while it's trying to get you, it'll actually show anger by making its spikes flex.
- There is a Resident Evil: The Deck Building Game card based on these monsters.
