James Shade was a clone created through Umbrella's advanced biotechnology. His DNA was obtained from his father of the same name.
Biography
Retaining none of the memories of his parent, as with the other clones bar the 2002 clone of Alice, he kept the basic personality traits to elicit the proper responses expected of the original.
He operated solely on the programming as a soldier for Umbrella and Red Queen. He aided Jill in the fight to recapture Alice and her allies until he was killed by Barry Burton during a standoff. He appeared to act as Jill's second in command, often giving out orders when Jill did not.
